If you are writing about DERSA

Everything you need is on this page: who answers, what is true, and where the files are.

Media contact

[email protected] — we answer on working days. If you are on a deadline, say so in the subject line and it goes to the top.

We will not describe something as finished when it is not, and we will not give you a number we have not measured. Where we do not know, we will say we do not know.

The facts

Each of these can be checked from the apps or this site.

What DERSA is

An Ethiopian app for rides, food and shopping delivery, parcels and payments. One account, one balance, five services.

Where it operates

Across Ethiopia, including intercity journeys between Addis Ababa, Adama, Hawassa, Bahir Dar, Dire Dawa and Mekelle.

Languages

Amharic, English, Afaan Oromoo and Tigrinya, throughout the apps rather than on a welcome screen.

How people pay

Cash or DERSA Pay. A bank account is not needed to use the service, and cash is not treated as a fallback.

How DERSA earns

A commission on completed journeys and orders. Nothing is charged to join, as a driver or as a shop.

The name

Written DERSA, in capitals, in English and Amharic copy alike. Never Dersa or DerSA.

Using the logo

Please do not stretch it, recolour it, rotate it, or set it on a busy background. Leave clear space around it equal to the height of the symbol.

Do not use it in a way that suggests DERSA sponsored or endorsed something it did not.
